On the 12th, the reporter learned from the traffic control department that Wuhan is upgrading the city's signal lights, the first batch of traffic lights upgraded to "bus control signal lights", using Internet of Things and other technologies to achieve more efficient and intelligent control of the signal lights.

The control technology used in this new type of signal lamp system is independently developed by the Scientific Research Department of the Traffic Administration Bureau, and has won the national patent and the copyright of computer software.

The head of Science and Technology Department of Wuhan Traffic Administration said that at present, the new traffic lights have been running for a period of time at several intersections such as Yifang Avenue, Youth Road, Huaihai Road and Bairuijing Road. The new type of signal lamp solves the complex problem of traditional signal lamp wiring. By bus control method, the intersection of signal lamp which needs more than 10 sets of cables is replaced by only one wire. It not only saves the cost greatly, but also makes the construction more convenient. The average construction time of an intersection is 5 hours, the efficiency is improved several times than before, and the road surface is not destroyed. It effectively solves the problem of "flying line into the ground".

This new type of traffic light can also use solar energy to supply electricity, which saves electricity and environmental protection, and can save about 70% of the electricity cost. At the same time, because of the high construction efficiency and convenient maintenance, it has a strong application value.

Traffic administration said that Wuhan will soon usher in the "Military Games", and the use of new signal lights will play a positive role in purifying the road environment and enhancing the image of the city.
